WhiteBIT burns WBT like clockwork: exactly 52 rounds a year for three straight years 2023–2025, each equal to 33% of trading fees plus 5% of the exchange's other income, calling burn() directly on the Ethereum contract. But the amount runs opposite to the price: 2024 destroyed 25.1M WBT, January 2025 set a 4.07M record, then it fell almost every month to 202k in August 2026 — the very month WBT hit $74.97 and entered the top 20 by market cap. The 106.4M total (26.6% of 400M) is 25M destroyed at launch plus 81.4M across 207 weekly rounds the ledger reads transaction by transaction; it also excludes the 53M of 29 Aug 2024 because that was a migration to Whitechain, not a burn. The counterweight is 320M WBT sitting in two exchange funds, which makes "circulating supply" either 118M or 214M depending on who counts.
A snapshot at one moment — it has no 24-hour or 30-day meaning.
Tokens gone from the supply forever — sitting in a dead wallet or destroyed via burn() reducing total supply directly. Irreversible.
Total burned over max supply (all components: permanent burn, plus the buyback fund where the token has one). For tokens with overhang, read it against that cell: is burning winning or losing against the supply still ahead?
This token burns weekly or less often, so weekly grouping is the readable view — a daily table would be zeros between rounds. The top week is the current, incomplete one.

At this pace one year burns 0,00% of max supply.
The original 400M WBT allocation in August 2022: Funds 1 120M, private sale 54M, public sale 1M, Funds 2 200M locked for three years, and 25M sent straight to the burn address at launch. From 30 Aug 2022 to 24 Aug 2026 the exchange called burn() another 207 times, 81,393,983 WBT in total — the ledger reads each round via Dune and the chain matches WhiteBIT's official history 1:1. Together 106,393,983 WBT, and 400M minus that equals 293,606,017 — CoinGecko's total supply to the token. (Before 3 Sep 2026 this ledger showed only 81.4M, missing the 25M launch burn; corrected.) At early-September-2026 prices (~$71) the burned amount is worth about $7.6B — close to the market cap at the same date on CoinGecko's count. One amount the ledger deliberately does NOT count: the 53M WBT sent to 0x0 on 29 Aug 2024 was a supply migration to Whitechain at the network's launch — including it would inflate the figure by 50%; the Ethereum contract now holds only 165.6M, the rest of total supply lives on Whitechain.
By year: 2022 (18 rounds from 30 Aug) 14.25M; 2023 23.77M; 2024 25.11M; 2025 16.32M; 2026 to 1 Sep only 1.95M across 33 rounds — an annualised 2.9M, down 88% from 2024. Each of 2023–2025 had exactly 52 rounds, weekly discipline without a miss; 2026 has 33 rounds in 35 weeks (June only three). The series peaked in January 2025: 4.07M WBT, including the two largest rounds ever on 2 Jan (1,318,290) and 21 Jan (1,367,223). From there the monthly burn fell almost without pause: Feb 2025 2.54M, May 1.29M, Aug 611k, Dec 411k, Jan 2026 260k, June 164k (the low), Aug 2026 202k across four rounds of 44,810–53,071 WBT. A weekly round today is one-thirtieth of the record round 19 months earlier.
The ledger has not attached prices to older rounds, but for the twelve months with daily prices (CoinGecko, Sep 2025–Aug 2026) the 3.78M WBT burned was worth $197M: Sep 2025 $22.7M, Nov and Dec $24.0M each (the peak), Jan 2026 $14.2M, June $8.6M (the trough), Aug 2026 $11.9M. Because WBT rose from a $3.06 low (13 Feb 2023) to a $74.97 high (25 Aug 2026) — 24-fold — the burn in dollars fell far more slowly than in tokens: −50% over twelve months rather than −88% since 2024. The stated rule is 33% of trading fees plus 5% of other income; if that rule is unchanged, implied trading fees are at most about $36M in Aug 2026 and about $73M in Dec 2025 — this ledger's estimate, the exchange publishes no revenue, and a changed base cannot be ruled out. What the ledger sees for certain: the burn engine buys ever fewer tokens with ever less money, while the market prices WBT at its highest ever.
Of the original 400M WBT, 320M (80%) belongs to WhiteBIT's Funds 1 and Funds 2; Funds 2 was locked for three years and its final 39M WBT unlock (≈ $1.19B) took place on 13 Mar 2026, moving into the exchange fund rather than the market — since then there is no unlock schedule, so the empty unlock column here is correct. That fund block is why two supply counts diverge: CoinGecko counts 118M circulating (29% of total); CoinMarketCap counts about 214M — so CMC's market cap is always about 80% higher than CoinGecko's, enough to move it from rank ~17 into the top 10 (rankings as of early September 2026). The ledger uses CoinGecko's figure and states plainly: the 175.6M WBT between the two counts sits with the exchange, can reach the market at any time, and is 60 times a year's burn at the 2026 pace. The stated "burn down to 200M" target is 93.6M away: 3.7 years at 2024's pace, 32 years at 2026's.
Weekly rounds: every burn() call on the WBT ERC-20 contract on Ethereum rebuilt via Dune (query 8549646), permanently excluding 29 Aug 2024 (the 53M Whitechain migration); the chain matches WhiteBIT's official history 1:1 (checked 31 Aug 2026). Total burn = 25M at launch (original allocation, per WhiteBIT/Kraken documentation) + the weekly chain; reconciled as 400M − burned = CoinGecko total supply, closing to the token. The daily table has only a burn column: WhiteBIT publishes neither revenue nor fees, so there is no revenue or spend-ratio column; dollar figures in the article use CoinGecko daily prices for the last twelve months and are estimates. The dead wallet is empty because burn() reduces totalSupply directly. No unlocks since 13 Mar 2026. Price, market cap, ATH/ATL, circulating supply: CoinGecko; CoinMarketCap's count quoted for comparison.
How much WBT has been burned in total?
106,393,983 WBT — 26.6% of the 400M original supply: 25M destroyed at launch (Aug 2022) and 81,393,983 across 207 weekly rounds from 30 Aug 2022 to 24 Aug 2026. 400M minus this equals CoinGecko's 293.6M total supply exactly.
How often and how much does WBT burn?
Weekly — exactly 52 rounds a year in 2023–2025. Recent rounds are 45–55k WBT ($2.5–4M), against the 1.37M record on 21 Jan 2025; August 2026 totalled 202k.
Why has the WBT burn fallen so much while the price hits records?
The burn is set in dollars (33% of trading fees + 5% of other income) and then converted to tokens: the price is 24× the low, so the same money buys far fewer tokens, and the money itself halved over twelve months ($24M → $12M a month). The exchange publishes no revenue, so the ledger draws no conclusion on cause.
Was the 53M WBT on 29 Aug 2024 a burn?
No — it was a supply move to Whitechain at the network's launch; WhiteBIT's own history does not count it either. Including it would inflate the total by 50%. The Ethereum contract now holds 165.6M WBT, with the rest of total supply on Whitechain.
Why does WBT circulating supply here (118M) differ from CoinMarketCap (~214M)?
320M of the original WBT belongs to two exchange funds; CoinGecko excludes most of that block from circulation, CoinMarketCap includes more of it. The result is a CMC market cap about 80% above CoinGecko's, enough to move from rank ~17 into the top 10 (early September 2026). The ledger uses CoinGecko.
Does WBT have unlocks left?
No. The final 39M WBT (≈ $1.19B) unlocked on 13 Mar 2026 into the exchange fund, ending Funds 2's three-year lock. But the 175.6M WBT in the exchange's hands can reach the market at any time — a larger counterweight than any unlock.
When will WBT reach the 200M target?
93.6M still to burn: 3.7 years at 2024's pace (25.1M a year); 32 years at 2026's (2.9M a year).
Where does this WBT data come from?
The WBT contract on Ethereum via Dune query 8549646 (every burn() call, migration day excluded), matching WhiteBIT's official history; original allocation and the 25M launch burn per WhiteBIT/Kraken documentation; price, market cap, total supply, ATH/ATL from CoinGecko.
