SHIB's burn table is a story of one enormous number and the tiny numbers beside it. The enormous one: 410.24 trillion SHIB Vitalik Buterin sent to a dead wallet on 16 May 2021 — 41% of supply, still 99.98% of every SHIB ever burned. The tiny ones: the 2–6 million SHIB the community burns each day, worth tens of dollars. This ledger measures both with the same ruler — the balances of three burn wallets plus what the contract has destroyed, read at the 00:00 UTC block — and deliberately leaves out the "Shibarium burns" that popular trackers add on top.
A snapshot at one moment — it has no 24-hour or 30-day meaning.
Tokens gone from the supply forever — sitting in a dead wallet or destroyed via burn() reducing total supply directly. Irreversible.
Total burned over max supply (all components: permanent burn, plus the buyback fund where the token has one). For tokens with overhang, read it against that cell: is burning winning or losing against the supply still ahead?
Large periodic burns — source noted below the table: measured directly on-chain (LIT, ASTER) or official published figures (BNB, whose quarterly auto-burn cuts total supply directly, bypassing any dead wallet).

Burn = change in on-chain total burn (1Q − totalSupply + three burn wallets) between two 00:00 UTC blocks; today's row is provisional. No revenue or buyback column because SHIB has no buy-and-burn mechanism. Shibarium burns are not counted.
At this pace one year burns 0,00% of max supply.
Scope: REAL burns on Ethereum mainnet (2 dead wallets + burn(), matching CoinGecko exactly). Shibburn shows more because it adds Shibarium-side "burns" — where the original tokens stay locked in the bridge and mainnet supply never shrinks; the SHIB team itself confirms real burning requires bridging back to Ethereum.
At launch in August 2020, Ryoshi sent 500 trillion SHIB — half of the 1-quadrillion supply — to Vitalik Buterin's wallet as a way of "locking" it without a contract. In May 2021 Vitalik used it: on 12 May he gave 50 trillion to India's Covid relief fund, and on 16 May sent 410,241,996,771,871 SHIB to the vanity address 0xdead…942069, with a note that he did not want to be the project's focal point. That is 41.02% of supply, and the only round in this page's events table. The address has kept receiving tokens from others since: today's balance is 410.44 trillion, 195 billion more than Vitalik's transfer.
Beyond Vitalik's wallet, the ledger holds 49.41B in the standard 0x…dEaD wallet and 17.67B destroyed directly from total supply — a lifetime "community" total of 67B, or 0.011% of supply. The daily series from 1 May 2026: May burned 103M, June 69M, August 400M, and recent days 2–6M — a few tens of dollars a day. July 2026 was the exception: 3.2B SHIB, of which 26–27 July accounted for 2.4B, including a single transaction above 1B — the largest in Shibburn's history. This ledger's July figure (3.20B) matches Shibburn's published 30-day count (3.25B).
The arithmetic shows why these rounds are not supply news: burning 1% of supply (5.9 trillion) at August's pace would take over 1,200 years; at July's record pace, still 150 years. SHIB's daily burn is a community ritual — this ledger records it because it is real, not because it moves supply.
Shibburn reports 410.84 trillion burned; this ledger reports 410.50 trillion. The 340B gap is the "Shibarium burns": SHIB burned on the L2 side is the bridged copy, the original stays in the bridge contract on Ethereum and mainnet total supply does not fall by a single unit. The simple test: 1 quadrillion minus 410.50 trillion equals 589.50 trillion — exactly the totalSupply read from the contract, and exactly CoinGecko's figure. Add the 340B and the sum no longer matches supply. When the originals in the bridge are actually burned on mainnet, this ledger will record it on its own, because supply will fall.
SHIB has no new issuance, no vesting schedule, no locked treasury: circulating equals the 589.5 trillion total supply, so this page has no mint or unlock card. The only thing that changes supply is burn, and post-2021 burn is close to zero. Market cap therefore follows price: the high of $0.0000862 on 27 Oct 2021 (per CoinGecko) has not been revisited since. Anyone buying SHIB because "burns will make it scarce" should reread the section above: the scarcity happened once, in 2021, and was priced in long ago.
Each day at the first block after 00:00 UTC, the ledger calls totalSupply on contract 0x95aD…c4cE and the balances of three addresses: 0xdead…942069 (Vitalik), 0x…dEaD, 0x…0000. Total burn = (1 quadrillion − totalSupply) + the three balances; the day's burn is the difference between two snapshots. Scanning only the standard 0x…dEaD — as many tables do — misses 99.99%, because Vitalik's wallet is a different vanity address. The series starts 1 May 2026, today's row is provisional; the 16 May 2021 round sits in the events table. Price and ATH from CoinGecko; the burn's USD value uses the price at the time the page was last updated.
How much SHIB has been burned?
410.50 trillion SHIB, 41.05% of the 1-quadrillion genesis supply. 410.24 trillion of that is Vitalik's 16 May 2021 transaction; the lifetime community share is about 67B.
Why is the burn figure here lower than Shibburn's?
Shibburn adds ~340B of "Shibarium burns" — L2 copies burned while the originals remain in the bridge, leaving mainnet supply unchanged. This ledger counts only what reduces supply: 1Q − 410.50T = 589.50T, exactly the on-chain totalSupply.
How much SHIB is burned daily?
Usually 2–6 million SHIB, or $10–30. August 2026 totalled 400M; July 2026 set a record 3.2B thanks to 26–27 July (2.4B) — still only 0.0005% of supply.
Does burning SHIB raise the price?
At the current pace, burning 1% of supply takes over 1,200 years; at July 2026's record pace, still 150 years. The only round large enough to change supply was Vitalik's in 2021, long since priced in.
Does SHIB have an automatic burn mechanism?
Not at the mainnet token layer. Daily burns are the community, a Robinhood wallet and some apps voluntarily sending tokens to dead wallets. A fee-based burn exists on Shibarium, but it happens on the L2 and has not reduced mainnet supply.
Does SHIB have minting or unlocks?
No. Supply has been fixed at 1 quadrillion since 2020, there is no vesting, and circulating equals the 589.5 trillion total supply. This page therefore has no mint/unlock card.
Which addresses are SHIB's burn wallets?
0xdead…942069 (410.44 trillion — the wallet Vitalik used, with 195B added by others since), the standard 0x…dEaD (49.41B), 0x…0000 (0), plus 17.67B destroyed from totalSupply.
Where does the SHIB data on this page come from?
Read directly from the SHIB contract on Ethereum at each day's 00:00 UTC block (totalSupply + three burn wallets). Cross-checks: the total matches CoinGecko, July 2026 matches Shibburn. Price, ATH: CoinGecko.
