KCS is the oldest exchange token in this ledger — first burned in April 2018 with 10% of quarterly profit — and the only one whose burn program has stopped: round #66 on 31 Dec 2025 destroyed 20,240 KCS ($244k), and the KCC dead wallet has received nothing in the eight months since, with no 2026 burn announcement from KuCoin. The 57.8M total (28.9% of 200M) sounds large, but this ledger unpacks it: 31M belongs to the pre-2021 ERC-20 era the ledger cannot measure, 20M was a one-off founding-team burn in 2022, and only 6.78M is real monthly buyback-and-burn measured on-chain across 45 rounds. At 2025's pace (510k for the whole year), the "down to 100M" target is more than 80 years away.
A snapshot at one moment — it has no 24-hour or 30-day meaning.
Tokens gone from the supply forever — sitting in a dead wallet or destroyed via burn() reducing total supply directly. Irreversible.
Balance of 0x…dEaD on BSC — where BEP-95 lands (a slice of every block's gas fees, a steady 65–140 BNB per day) along with recent quarterly auto-burns of roughly 1.6 million BNB each, sized by a price-and-blocks formula.
Removed from circulation but NOT sitting in the dead wallet: the Ethereum-era ERC-20 burns, destroyed via burn() so the tokens vanished without passing through any address. Verifiable only through total supply, not wallet balances.
Total burned over max supply (all components: permanent burn, plus the buyback fund where the token has one). For tokens with overhang, read it against that cell: is burning winning or losing against the supply still ahead?
Large periodic burns — source noted below the table: measured directly on-chain (LIT, ASTER) or official published figures (BNB, whose quarterly auto-burn cuts total supply directly, bypassing any dead wallet).

on-chain 0x…dEaD trên KCC · These events are highlights covering 80,9% of lifetime burn — the rest is continuous burning, fully contained in the daily table. Two lenses on one stream; never add them together.
KCS total supply today is 142,155,021 — matching KuCoin's own post-round-#66 figure (142,155,021.74) to the unit — so burned = 200M − 142.16M = 57,844,979 KCS, 28.9% of original supply. The 0x…dEaD wallet on KCC holds 26,781,719 KCS, read directly over RPC. The remaining 31,063,260 was burned while KCS was still an ERC-20 on Ethereum (from the first 312,500 KCS in Q1 2018 to mid-2021) — the ledger has not rebuilt those transactions and records it as "legacy" by difference. Of the 26.78M on-chain, 20M is a single transaction on 31 Mar 2022: the founding team burning from the 65M KCS they held, announced with the KCS whitepaper on 30 Mar — the events table shows both the announcement row and the on-chain row for this one amount. The genuinely measured monthly buyback-and-burn is only 6,781,719 KCS across 45 rounds from 23 Jun 2021 to 31 Dec 2025, averaging 151k a round.
Summing the monthly rounds measured at the dead wallet by year: 2021 (from June) 1.22M, 2022 2.83M — the record 990,434 KCS on 4 Jan 2022 and 850,056 on 22 Mar — 2023 745k, 2024 1.48M (peak 311,727 on 30 Apr), 2025 510k, 2026 zero. The 2025 rounds shrank: 58,514 (6 Feb), 45,214 (10 Mar), 17,836, 18,583, 22,335, 35,778, 45,288, 62,386, 83,696 (22 Sep, the year's high), 46,995, 53,595 and 20,240 on 31 Dec — one-fiftieth of the 2022 record. The ledger checked the chain's continuity: KuCoin numbers June 2022 as round #31 and December 2025 as #66 — 42 months but only 35 rounds, so 7 months with no burn; the dead wallet is empty in exactly those 7 gaps (Dec 2022, Jan 2023, Aug–Nov 2023, Jul 2024). The program had paused before it stopped.
Read in dollars: KuCoin states each round's value in its announcement — 45,214 KCS in Feb 2025 ≈ $541k, 17,836 in March ≈ $218k, 35,778 in June ≈ $406k, 53,595 in November ≈ $766k, 20,240 in December ≈ $244k. The original 2018 rule was "10% of profit"; today's KCS page only says "calculated based on KuCoin's overall monthly revenue" with no ratio. If it were still 10% of profit, implied profit would be just $2–8M a month — this ledger's estimate, far too small for a top-10 exchange, so either the ratio changed or the base narrowed; KuCoin publishes no financials to check against.
From 1 Jan 2026 to 3 Sep 2026 the dead wallet balance has sat at 26,781,718.79 KCS; total supply has stayed at 142,155,021 every day; KuCoin's announcement page ends at "KCS Team Completes 66th (December 2025) KCS Burn" — there is no #67. The longest earlier gap was four months (Aug–Nov 2023); this one is eight, with no notice of a pause or a mechanism change. The ledger does not guess at the reason; it only notes that 2025 was a year of major restructuring at KuCoin (the January 2025 settlement with the US Department of Justice, exit from the US market, a change of leadership) and that 2025's full-year burn was already the lowest in the program's history. The ledger reads the dead wallet daily, so round #67, if it comes, appears in the events table the same day.
KCS differs from every other exchange token in that most of the value paid to holders does not go through the burn: KCS Bonus distributes 50% of each day's trading fees to accounts holding 6 KCS or more on KuCoin, at a stated yield of roughly 1–4% a year. On a market cap of about $950M, as in early September 2026, 1–4% is $10–38M a year flowing to holders — many times the $2.5M total value of 2025's twelve burn rounds. In other words, KuCoin has chosen dividends over buybacks, and this burn ledger only captures the small side. KCS has no unlock schedule: circulating supply is 137.16M per CoinGecko, while KuCoin reports 129.66M — the 12.5M gap is what the exchange treats as locked; the ledger states both definitions.
KuCoin's target since 2017 is to burn until 100M remains — 42.16M still to go. At 2022's pace (2.83M a year) that takes 15 years; at 2025's (510k a year) 83 years; at 2026's, never. Price: a high of $28.83 on 1 Dec 2021, a low of $0.343 on 6 Feb 2019 (CoinGecko). In this ledger KCS is the mirror image of GT: both exchange tokens bought and burned with profit, GT destroys 8.5% of supply a year, KCS 0.36% and then zero.
Total supply: CoinGecko, matching KuCoin's published post-round-#66 figure; burned = 200M − total supply. Dead wallet: the 0x…dEaD balance on KCC read over RPC daily (rpc-mainnet.kcc.network, fallback kcc-rpc.com); the ERC-20 "legacy" portion = burned − dead wallet, with individual Ethereum transactions not yet rebuilt. Events table: every transaction into the dead wallet rebuilt from KCC archive history, 45 monthly rounds from 23 Jun 2021 plus the 20M on 31 Mar 2022 (with the 30 Mar whitepaper announcement row for the same amount); the USD column is empty because the ledger has not yet attached a price at each round's time — KuCoin's stated values are quoted in the article. KuCoin's round numbering #31 (Jun 2022) → #66 (Dec 2025) reconciled against 7 on-chain gaps. No daily table or revenue: KuCoin publishes neither fees nor profit, and burns only monthly — currently halted. Price, market cap, ATH/ATL, circulating supply: CoinGecko.
Does KCS still burn monthly?
No, as of 3 Sep 2026: the last round, #66 on 31 Dec 2025 (20,240 KCS); the KCC dead wallet has not moved in eight months and KuCoin has published no 2026 burn announcement, nor a pause notice. The ledger reads the dead wallet daily and will reflect any restart immediately.
How much KCS has been burned in total?
57,844,979 KCS — 28.9% of the 200M original supply: 31.06M in the ERC-20 era (2018–2021, by difference) and 26.78M measured directly at the KCC dead wallet, comprising the founding team's 20M (31 Mar 2022) and 6.78M across 45 monthly rounds.
How much profit does KuCoin use to burn KCS?
The original 2018 rule was 10% of quarterly profit, later monthly; the current KCS page only says "based on monthly revenue" with no ratio. By KuCoin's stated values, 2025's twelve rounds totalled ≈ $2.5M — if still 10% of profit, implied profit is very small, this ledger's estimate.
Why does the events table show two 20M rows in March 2022?
They are the same amount: the 30 Mar row is the whitepaper announcement (the founding team burning 20M of the 65M they held), the 31 Mar row is the actual transaction into the KCC dead wallet. The ledger's burn total is computed from total supply, so it is not double-counted.
What is KCS Bonus and is it related to the burn?
KCS Bonus distributes 50% of each day's trading fees to accounts holding 6+ KCS on KuCoin, yielding about 1–4% a year — $10–38M a year on a market cap of about $950M (early September 2026), far more than the $2.5M burned in 2025. It is a dividend, does not reduce supply, and so sits outside the burn ledger.
When will KCS reach the 100M target?
42.16M still to burn. At 2022's pace (2.83M a year) 15 years; at 2025's (510k a year) 83 years; at the current pace (zero), never.
Why does KCS circulating supply here (137.2M) differ from KuCoin (129.7M)?
The ledger uses CoinGecko; KuCoin excludes a further 12.5M it treats as locked. Total supply of 142.16M matches to the unit on both sides.
Where does this KCS data come from?
The 0x…dEaD wallet on KCC read over RPC daily plus archive history to rebuild the 45 rounds; total supply, price, ATH/ATL from CoinGecko; USD values and round numbering from KuCoin announcements; KCS Bonus from KuCoin's KCS page.
