Avantis — a perp DEX on Base — buys AVNT with 30% of trading fees and burns it straight to the dead wallet, four fills a day, six hours apart. It is the cleanest mechanism among this site's ledgers, and also the youngest: the dead wallet only started receiving real tokens on 9 Mar 2026, six months after the TGE, by which point Avantis's fees had fallen 63% from their October 2025 peak and kept falling. The result after almost six months: 4.15M AVNT — 0.41% of supply — bought for $515k at an average of $0.125. This ledger counts every fill, measures the real ratio against total fees instead of taking the 30% on trust, and sets the burn against the team and investor unlock starting around 9 Sep 2026 — an estimated 13M AVNT a month, more than 30 times August's burn pace.
A snapshot at one moment — it has no 24-hour or 30-day meaning.
Tokens gone from the supply forever — sitting in a dead wallet or destroyed via burn() reducing total supply directly. Irreversible.
Total burned over max supply (all components: permanent burn, plus the buyback fund where the token has one). For tokens with overhang, read it against that cell: is burning winning or losing against the supply still ahead?
The contract buys tokens and burns them in the same cycle — this table aggregates every fill per day (source: Dune, reconciled against total supply / dead wallet). ≈USD uses the day’s price; buy and burn are instant, so it also approximates actual spend.
| Day | Revenue | Fills | Bought & burned | ≈ USD | % of revenue?Usually below the "30% of revenue" Avantis advertises — not a measurement error but a different base: the 30% applies only to opening/closing/win fees, while the Revenue column here (DefiLlama) counts ALL user-paid fees, including margin and liquidation fees that never feed the burn. Of total real fees, only ~13–16% comes back as burn. |

Actual spend versus recorded revenue, computed on the everyday flow (one-off rounds from the events table are excluded so they don’t distort the ratio). Two independent sources — on-chain and DefiLlama — agreeing is evidence the data holds.

At this pace one year burns 0,35% of max supply.
The 0x…dEaD wallet of the AVNT contract on Base (0x696f…4f1) held 4,145,643 AVNT on the morning of 3 Sep 2026 — 0.41% of the 1B supply. On-chain total supply is therefore 995,854,357; CoinGecko still lists 1B because it does not subtract the dead wallet. The point this ledger wants to make clear: although AVNT launched on 9 Sep 2025 and the buy-and-burn has been described as running "from day one", the dead wallet received only dust before March 2026 (10⁻¹⁸ AVNT on 9 Sep 2025, 2×10⁻⁵ on 12 Dec 2025) — test transactions, by this ledger's reading. The first real buy-and-burn fills came on 9 Mar 2026 (1.5 AVNT across 23 trial fills), and from 10 Mar 2026 the programme has run steadily: 18,014 AVNT on the first day, then four fills a day without a gap.
By month: Mar 2026 burned 854,713 AVNT (from the 9th), Apr 2026 852,171 — the record day was 6 Apr with 139,338 AVNT, $18.9k — then May 607,082, Jun 759,998, Jul 666,487, Aug 373,722. August was only 44% of April because fees fell; the current pace is 5,000–25,000 AVNT a day, about 4–5M a year, or 0.4–0.5% of supply. 758 fills in total, all from the Avantis Foundation buyback wallet 0xa758…1410.
Avantis's docs say 30% of daily opening, closing and win fees go to buy-and-burn; margin fees go 100% to liquidity providers and liquidation fees 100% to the treasury, neither participating. This ledger's revenue column is DefiLlama's dailyFees — every fee users pay — so the measured ratio is systematically below 30%: 12.0% in April, 12.6% in May, 14.5% in June, 15.0% in July, 15.6% in Aug 2026. Working backwards, eligible fees make up roughly 40–52% of total fees and are rising — this ledger's estimate, since Avantis publishes no fee breakdown. The month-to-month stability shows the formula is executed consistently; there is no sign the share has yet been raised to 50% as per the roadmap.
Total spent: $514,921 for 4,132,796 AVNT since March — an average purchase price of $0.125, above where AVNT has traded since mid-2026; with a buy-and-burn that is not a book loss (the tokens are gone), but it shows the programme has bought through a one-way decline. Because the burn is fee-linked, the figure to watch is dollars spent per month: $126k in March, $118k in April, down to $34.6k in August.
Avantis's fees per DefiLlama climbed through 2025: $255k in April, $736k in July, $1.22M in August, $2.11M in September (the TGE month), peaking at $4.23M in October with a record day of $453k on 10 Oct 2025 — the day the whole perp market cascaded into liquidations. Then an almost uninterrupted descent: $1.81M in November, ~$2M in December and January 2026, $960k in February, $1.55M in March (the month burning started), then $982k, $718k, $578k, $404k, and $221k in Aug 2026 — 95% below the peak. The last thirty days brought only $199k; lifetime fees since March 2024 are $24.1M, most of it earned in the six months around the TGE.
Price tracked fees: AVNT peaked at $2.64 on 21 Sep 2025, less than two weeks after the TGE, and bottomed at $0.0778 on 3 Aug 2026 — a 97% fall from peak to trough. Burning 0.41% of supply in six months was never going to change any of that — for AVNT, the burn is a way of distributing revenue, not a scarcity story.
Circulating supply is 352.4M (35% of supply); 643.5M remains locked. Under the published terms, the team's 13.3% and investors' 26.61% — 399M AVNT together — sit under a 12-month cliff from the TGE, then vest linearly over 30 months: roughly 13.3M AVNT a month from around 9 Sep 2026, growing circulating supply by ~3.8% a month for two and a half years. This is the ledger's estimate from public terms — DefiLlama does not cover AVNT and paid trackers gate the data — so the unlock card on this page is marked as a projection. Against the 374k AVNT burned in August, the monthly release is about 36 times larger; even at April's pace (852k) it is 16 times.
Avantis's roadmap says the buy-and-burn share will rise above 50% after protocol economic upgrades (LP efficiency, liquidity architecture, risk management), with end of Q3 2026 named as the target. Even if that happens, 50% of $221k of monthly fees is still ~$110k — around 1M AVNT at early-September-2026 prices, one-thirteenth of the release. This ledger will spot a share change when the %revenue column jumps from ~15% to ~25%.
Burn = every AVNT transfer into 0x…dEaD on Base, aggregated by UTC day (Dune); the daily series totals 4,132,796 against a dead-wallet balance of 4,145,643, a 12.8k gap made up of fills after the 00:00 snapshot and pre-March dust. Buy and burn are one instruction, so there is no separate buyback column; the ≈USD column is burn × that day's AVNT/USDT price, and %revenue divides it by the avantis slug's dailyFees on DefiLlama (the slug's dailyRevenue is zero — DefiLlama has not split out the protocol's share). State reads the dead wallet daily over Base RPC; price, market cap, ATH/ATL from CoinGecko. The unlock schedule is a manual estimate from public terms, not an on-chain source.
How much AVNT has been burned in total?
4,145,643 AVNT — 0.41% of the 1B supply — all in the dead wallet on Base and almost all since 9 Mar 2026. Bought for $515k, average price $0.125.
How often does AVNT burn?
Four fills a day, six hours apart, automatic and proportional to that day's fees — the ledger records 758 fills from 9 Mar to 1 Sep 2026, with no empty day. Before March 2026 the dead wallet received only dust.
Why is the burn-to-revenue ratio here 12–16% rather than 30%?
The 30% applies to open/close/win fees; the revenue column here is DefiLlama's total fees, including margin (to LPs) and liquidation (to treasury). Working backwards, eligible fees are ~40–52% of the total — this ledger's estimate. The ratio ran 12.0% → 15.6% from April to Aug 2026.
Has Avantis raised the buy-and-burn share to 50% yet?
Not visible in the data as of 3 Sep 2026: the ratio against total fees is still ~15%. The roadmap targets above 50% after protocol economic upgrades, with end of Q3 2026 as the milestone. When it changes, the %revenue column will jump to ~25%.
What are AVNT's upcoming unlocks?
Team 13.3% and investors 26.61% (399M AVNT) exit their 12-month cliff ~9 Sep 2026 into 30-month vesting — an estimated 13.3M a month, ~3.8% of circulating supply monthly, ~36 times August's burn. Estimated from public terms, not an on-chain schedule.
Where are Avantis's fees now?
$221k in Aug 2026 per DefiLlama, versus a peak of $4.23M in Oct 2025 (record day 10 Oct 2025, $453k) — down 95%. Burning started in March 2026, after fees had already peaked.
Why does the AVNT page have no events table?
Because there has been no one-off burn — everything comes from small six-hourly fills, and even the biggest day, 6 Apr 2026, was only 139,338 AVNT. The daily and monthly tables are the full picture.
Where does the AVNT data on this page come from?
The dead-wallet balance of contract 0x696f…4f1 over Base RPC daily; each buy-and-burn fill from Dune; fees from the avantis DefiLlama slug; price, market cap, ATH/ATL from CoinGecko; mechanism from the Avantis docs and the foundation.avantisfi.com/buybacks dashboard.
